Are funded players going to receive help in future to help pay non LTA coaches, who they would like to work with and most evidence is that they are doing them good ?
If the answer is no, then head's gone and the extent of coupling improving LTA coaching with funding looks even more ridiculous.
The itf main site says he's won, and this was the score.
2-6 6-4 2-6
A few weeks ago, James was giving a lot of credit to Colin Beecher for helping him massively over recent weeks - so well done Colin too, and keep up the good work.
What I find all the more curious about the LTA situation, is that they say they want to put the emphasis more on coaching. Beechy has an excellent track record as a coach and was described from within the LTA as "highly regarded" and yet in this latest shake up, he was given the boot.
It just doesn't add up to me.
Per the printed version of the Telegraph article on Oli, Junior Tennis Coaching (Northwood) 'run by experienced coaches David Felgate and Alan Jones', is setting up a 2nd branch based at Virgin Chiswick (which I think has just lost it's HPC status). The new branch has recruited the 'popular and highly rated coach' Colin Beecher.
it was in a little side box, suggesting where Oli might like to train if he comes back.

Hard to see James doing much tomorrow but it has been a great week for him which should be a huge boost to his confidence, presumably battered after a hideous season, and will hopefully enable him to make a positive start to 2015.
Great to see at least one GB player for whom ending the season late has really paid off Very well done to James whatever happens tomorrow - I must admit, I thought Rufin, as a former top 100 player, would be a bridge too far this week and I'm delighted to have turned out to be wrong about that

So Fran, Josh WH and James M all throw in year best results, just at the finishing line :)
Great stuff from James, back up to WR 780 or so, and - as mentioned - a huge confidence boost - this wasn't a suddenly flukey lucky draw - he had good opponents to beat.
NB Gabb and Arends have just lost the first set of their final on a TB, but are 2-0 up in the second
