So James repeated his 2012 win against Balaji - and it's his biggest ranking scalp of 2014 so far

Marzi has had a terrible year, with only the Sutton performance(British tour increased fund) being a standout. I wouldn't be surprised if he is the next to retire from the pro game.
For the moment though ( and I've said my piece on retirement related issues elsewhere ), well done, James. That's a very good looking and indeed much needed win. Hopefully, he can go further still.
The itf main site says he's won, and this was the score.

Great sleuthing, Miriam ! And, as Bob says, what a good result, and good tournament all round so far.
A few weeks ago, James was giving a lot of credit to Colin Beecher for helping him massively over recent weeks - so well done Colin too, and keep up the good work.
James also gets my vote as actually making me laugh out loud with his tweet back in November:
"I reckon if I played federer I'd still want him to win! #ComeOnRoger"

What I find all the more curious about the LTA situation, is that they say they want to put the emphasis more on coaching. Beechy has an excellent track record as a coach and was described from within the LTA as "highly regarded" and yet in this latest shake up, he was given the boot.
Delighted for James to finally get a few wins at the end of a truly horrible season. After a year of one miserable result after another and 35 tournaments with next to nothing to show for it I really wouldn't have held it against him to have called an end to his season a month ago and wrote the whole year off as a disaster.
Re Bob's comment: Absolutely. Andy thinks the world of him. His track record is great. And yet he's got the elbow.
David Sammel - a 'strong' character maybe, but also with a lot of proven success - has recently been given the push too (I loved his quote: "This is the seventh regime that I've been through in my career and I've survived them all.")
Sammel also claims that he has been working hard with Liam, outside of the LTA, since summer, which is exactly when Liam's results started to click, but that the LTA are refusing to give any credit for that and pretending he doesn't exist.
I wish Kyle luck with Trotman but I do not think his track record matches up.
