RE: Week 50 - ITF ($15K) - Lucknow, India Grass

Em and Raina through to the finals in the doubles :) 6-1 6-2

But Katie/Katy couldn't capitalise on their previous excellent win and lost 6-2 6-2

Mind you, they lost to the Indian pair so it'll be nice for the crowds to have three of their players in the final, and will make for a great atmosphere for Emily.

Looks like Emily had some good fortune today playing an opponent who had already played a tough 3 set match earlier today.

Still a win is a win

Tougher test tomorrow Sofia Shapatava is ranked 229

Her opponent was tied at one-set all overnight, they just played the one set this morning.

Well that changes it - bit of bad fortune to play a opponent who was nicely warmed up! Anyway well done Em

India TV continues to impress. Currently showing the first semi final fingers crossed we get Em's

Looks like they are fflicking between various sports though so any coverage looks likely to be intermittent

Just not happening today, nothing working for her and Shapatava is moving the ball around beautifully. Broken after a few deuces, missing a couple of game points

0-2*

Yep Shapatava is far too solid from the back, and able to move forward and put even more pressure on Em's shots. Some lovely moments (a great lob, some good volleys) for Em, but the Georgian is the better player at the moment.

If Em could get more of her big 1st serves in then maybe this would have been a little tighter so far.

Way too many errors, firing returns into the net.

*0-3

Just been given some painkillers at the change of ends, and we will be spared the rest of this as they move to wrestling. I'm guessing her rib is still giving her some bother, as her serve just isn't there today.

Scoreboard is still ticking along for now, Em recovers from 0-30 to 40-30, but loses the next 3 points

0-4*

Loses 61 61.

A sore end (in more ways than one by the looks of things) to another good week, but even if she hadn't been struggling so badly she would have needed to play very well to beat Shapatava today who didn't miss a thing from the bits of the match they showed. Although the second set scoreline should have been closer given the game points Em had.

Wonder if she'll play the doubles?
