Well, that was a walk in the park for good ol' Josh:

(8) JWH def. (6) Ghedin 6-2 6-0 :)

The other semi looks tight which might well be good news for Ward-Hibbert . . .

And finished it off 6-0 6-2. Stunning result.

The other semi has just finished a long tie-break first set. Hopefully whoever he faces in the final has some fatigue!

Great news, that must be Josh's first ITF final.

I see they have ditched the doubles tournament.

Final at 1.30 local time. Looking like the Japanese player will be his opponent.

Very good !!

Be great if Josh could take the title and then in 2015 really push on towards at least the top 500. With his potential often much talked about on the forum, it would be interesting to see his progress with some confidence giving weeks and if he could consistently pull things together.

What is Josh's training / coaching set up ?

I'm pretty sure he's at Notts with most of the others (I think he comes from that neck of the woods, anyway). No idea about specific coach but I guess he shares the same ones.

Still not sure quite how much he was injured early in the year (some talk of it but don;t think it was serious) or simply how badly the NTC structure suited him - he was doing very well at Soto, and seems to be on a definite upward path over the last few months post-NTC, but the actual NTC time was very disappointing (in terms of results, at any rate).

Josh is training at Nottingham under the coaching of Hilts and various others. In a group with Liam, Toby, Luke, Evan etc

Great news to wake up to this morning. And at risk of creating the worst pun of all time - Ghedin there Josh.

Would be great to see him finish the week in style and taking the title.

Well, Rabbit Jaws is now up against Hairy Horse (OK, my anagrams are feeble, I know, because I've got leftover letters !!!)

Anyway, bottom line is that our guy is winning 3*-1 . . . so fingers crossed . . .

Whatever happens now, this is great to see, although it is a bit late for your 2014 ranking prediction wink
