LTA Calendar 2015

Dont know how to post a link, sorry, but the LTA have the first 6 months of their calendar on their website.  Men and women both have 3 grass challengers because of the extra week.  Surbiton re-used, Eastbourne  Ilkley, and Manchester too.  A couple of mens 15k's in the spring but less 10'ks than last couple of years.

On home page, drop down menu Fans and Major Events

pick Aegon Pro Series under British Events

then on blue bar in heading 2015 calendar

Seems that players are going to have to travel a lot more if they want to pick up ranking points. Just one event for the ladies at 10K in the first half of the season.

The grass court specialists are going to love the men's schedule, with all those challengers i.e Willis, Salisbury, Burton, Klein, Evo

Wow no clay court tournaments, and that means no NEWCASTLE, which even had a chance of being upgraded to a challenger !

With Wimby a week later, bonanza for grass court events.

1st week of June, no Nottingham challengers for men and women, now split between 2 sites.
2nd week of June, Nottingham WTA 250k, joint challenger at Surbiton.
3rd week of June, Edgbaston premier WTA, Queens, joint challenger at Ilkley
4th week of June, Eastbourne premier WTA, Nottingham ATP 250k.

Lots of options/opportunities for players and spectators alike !

Is that it?

I guess this is a new LTA commitment drive to make players play overseas and make them tougher *rolls eyes*

I wonder if players putting a good performance in the first two weeks of the Challengers might be able to push themselves into a postion for wildcards before Qualifying starts.

No clay !? - what are they playing at ? 10Ks at least on clay at should be there, even just to help development of players.

Allied to apparently a bit more grass ( though the grass in itself isn't a big issue and now has a better season ), just brilliant - NOT.

I don't think that's a complete calendar. First 3 weeks 10ks then 15ks and challengers- I think it'll be added to (at least I hope so)

We've been asking for chally's and got them, they suit our players which is even better!

Can't please everyone though, there isn't enough funding to do that I'd imagine
