Is Andrew finally getting the measure of Jankovits? The match started out similarly to last week's, with the Frenchman winning the first 4 games, but Andrew won 6 of the next 8 games - 3-6 3-0*

Goes without saying a fantastic result but my feeling is that Evan would be at or around this level had he not got hurt, just hope he stays fit and gets a good run of form.
Good to see some early pay back so soon after getting back to futures tennis. One more win and he's protected his points for last year!
I really hope he proves to be a big loss to college tennis the NCAA rulings and how they are interpreted are a total nonsense and ruthlessly manipulated by the colleges and the athletes representatives/ families to insure all parties/ networks are kept happy. Cam Newtons college career at auburn makes a good case study but then for QB s the pavements of the SEC are paved with gold.
It has all gone a bit wrong for Andrew now - Jankovits won the next 5 games for the loss of just 6 points and although Andrew has just held serve, the Frenchman is now serving for the match.

And I thought Evan was supposed to be rusty and coming back from injury. That's another terrific win.
When I spoke to James Trottman in La Manga whilst he was working with Evan and Oli at the start of the year, he told me that Evan's ranking target was 650 for this season. Three tournament wins on this trip to Tunisia and he could surpass that with ease LOL.

Great job Evan.
Interesting, Bob. Good to hear something out the horse's mouth, so to speak. Was that Jan 2014 target for end of 2014 i.e. now ? In which case, it obviously got annihilated by injury. Or for end 2015? If this year, I wonder if he's 'starting again' i.e. just rolling the goal into 2015 now. Or if the goal will be different this year.
He's certainly trying to do some serious fund-raising. I don't know if that stands much chance of success (any special Welsh funding pots for sportsmen?) but obviously all wins, and especially good wins, will help his cause.

I was talking to "Trotters" in Jan this year while Evan and Oli were working out in La Manga and telling him about my own personal "20 in the Top 500" target. I asked him if the players were given specific ranking targets. He told me that they were, although I didn't expect him to make them public.
However, he just came straight out and told me. He said Evan's target for the end of 2014 was 650 and Oli's was 250. He didn't know the targets for Liam, Luke and Toby who were working on the next court with Mark Hilton.
What I don't know, is if those targets were official LTA targets or whether Trotters had set them for his own players.
Giacolone got taken to three sets by a 17 yr old soon to turn 18 in transition to senior tennis so although a ranking of 506 would be another highest scalp, another win would make Evan the literal wildcard that the seeded players want to avoid.
Although BiS firmly had tongue in cheek about his expectations for Evan on his "Tunisia swing" a couple more results and he may well be a realistic punt for 20 under 500 by the end of 2015. I can't but help wish him well
