Thanks for the stream link. Watching Katie play just confirmed what I already believed. She has a LOT of potential. Her serve and forehand are already major weapons, and the rest of her game is solid.

Maia should be first up on the stream tomorrow. I'm particularly happy about this, seeing as the only other time I've seen her play was at Wimbledon against Michaela Gordon, and it didn't leave me with a good impression.

Emily has just beaten 8th seed Stefani 3 & 3

Katie has just been upset by Pedraza in straight sets 1 & 4

Maia is a set up but a break down in the 2nd 6-2 2-4*

Both Maia and Katie B were unable to sustain rallies and play anywhere near their capabilities on that day, which wasn't a great advert for our top girls, but hopefully you were happier with what you saw today. She may well be on the streamed court again tomorrow, given she is playing the top seed (US Open champion) and there is only one Mexican left in the girls draw.

R3

(1) Marie Bouzkova (CZE) v (13) Maia Lumsden

Emily Arbuthnott v (8) Anna Blinkova (RUS)

Blinkova is the 9th seed - a simple case of hitting one key too far to the left, I imagine.

Maia was on the streamed court - albeit fairly briefly - while Emily probably wished she could have played the 8th seed again. Katie & Maia (with separate partners) play doubles quarters later

R3

(1) Marie Bouzkova (CZE) d. (13) Maia Lumsden 6-3 6-1
(9) Anna Blinkova (RUS) d. Emily Arbuthnott 6-2 6-1
