Jonny has found himself a new partner & Darren's staying in the Nordic region to have another crack at Challengers:
R1: (WC) Lucas Renard & Jesper Saarni (SWE/FIN) CR 2298 (778+1520) vs Sander Arends (NED) & Darren Walsh CR 666 (411+255) R1: Jonny Marray & Philipp Petzschner (GER) CR 290 (83+207) vs (4) Radu Albot & Enrique López (MDA/ESP) CR 269 (119+150)
We could end up with two Brits in the quarters (not beyond the realms of possibility, I'd've thought ), one or none, as, sadly, the winners of those two encounters play one another!

What an odd partnership. A man who displayed outstanding honesty and sportsmanship in a Grand Slam final teams up with a man who displayed appalling dishonesty in a Grand Slam final. I hope that this is only a temporary arrangement.

I must confess I raised an eyebrow when I saw that. Maybe some of Jonny's sportsmanship will rub off on the Kraut? We can but live in hope...
My first instincts were rather as both of yours. But perhaps Mr Marray knows of a turning away from his past on Mr Petzschner's part to which we, as the general public, aren't and can't be privy. In which case, one can only hope that the influence of Mr Marray's character will further the trend.
Talk about mucking up what should have been a routine win and then getting out of jail. The Romanian duo had match point on serve at *9-8 in the match tie break.
