Katy was 3-2* up on serve but then Kalinina won the next 4 games 3-6

She got broken serving for the set at *5-4 as well but rebroke immediately and now has 2 more set points as she serves for it again.

Missing those chances for a double break proved costly as Kalinina broke back in the next game It's now 3-6 7-5 *4-5, with Katy serving to stay in the match.

Sadly ...

All the more frustrating given that Kalinina will play the winner of an all-(WC) match in R2

That's a shame. Not much you can do when your opponent serves an ace on break point but she had chances to take what would have been a fine win.

Pity.

Katy has probably not had as much success as she would have liked since her Imola 15K title in July.

But appears to have had a few niggles. Signs she is getting more into form again so hopefully a good end to the year, a good close season and I can see her making a real push forward again.

How high should I put you in my prediction stakes for next year, Katy ? I reckon you might squeeze into the GB top 10 again :)
