Difficult to see her progressing further but stranger things have happened. Good to see that Em now has no 1 pointers on her ranking, this has been a good spell for her with consistent round 1 wins.
Indeed, and that will be one of her two 2 pointers getting the boot ;)
I see that 2/3 ( 76 ) of her now 114 ranking points have been added in since July, 20 points for winning a qualifying round at Wimbledon setting her on her way.
She will sometimes get some very decent draws on her travels, but I don't see her as seeking these out. As said, she just likes playing tennis and travelling.
If you look at the points still due to come off this year, if none of the girls were to win another match this year, it's very close for nos 4, 5 and 6 with no 7 hovering not too far behind, but the end of year GB rankings would be :
4 Emily
5 Tara
6 Katy
7 Katie
...and Emily is still going this week and looks in rather good nick.
For now, this excellent win would on the current rankings table take Emily up to about WR 325 on Monday week with any more success this week or in next week's Indian 50K to add.
A difficult match in the doubles against the top seeds, lots of breaks and after being behind the girls found themselves serving for the set at *5-4, but missed a set point on sudden death deuce, and then a break point at 5-5*, eventually dropping the set 7-5.
They have managed to stop the run of games and are 1-3* down in the second, and as I type have converted their first break point in a while to get back on serve, *2-3

Another break point is missed and they go out 75 63
Shame, but both girls are still in the singles (Tadeja by the skin of her teeth having come through a very long real scrap against an Indian girl).
Em still likely to play top seed Mayr, who is having a bit of difficulty putting away an unranked Indian but should come through okay, leading 76(3) 32*
