RE: Week 46 - Challenger ($50,000) - Champaign IL, USA (Hard)

Tough loss given the performance, opportunities to finish it before going to a tie break in the 3rd. Not surprised Liam is gutted at not meeting his expectations. Augers well for 2015 really feel he has the potential to make another big jump in the first part of next year if he can maintain this form and attitude. Really nice to see the summer hard graft on the ITF pay dividends

Ed has made a poor start to his match.

Lost first set 6-1
Rubin is useful, but Ed needs some variation as he is trying to out hit him and making error after error.

Change of T shirt does the trick in the 2nd. Ed has had multiple BPs throughout the set, but having changed from a red to a white shirt, he finally breaks and will serve for the set at *5-3.

Farris fighting hard. Giron won the 1st set but Farris won the 2nd. Giron has justed served for the match at *5-3 in the decider but Farris has broken back. Game on.

Sad that all three lost in three set matches - and with two third-set-TBs, what's more . . . :(

You have to feel gutted for Ed, after losing 2 tight matches against high quality opponents, a repeat of those performances no doubt would have been good enough here. But alas probably lost a bit of confidence and then may have felt a bit of extra pressure to win this one.
