Just stared watching, kyles ground strokes seem just a bit to heavy for his opponents to control. If he can keep the consistency for a couple of games looking promising.

A great win really pleased for Kyle. Too strong over the end of the third for his opponent. Looked like man against boy in terms of weight of shot. Onward and upward me thinks!

It's great to see him and Liam starting to consistently advance deep into Challenger draws. Looking forward to seeing them continue to chase each other up the rankings in 2015!

Kyle was on UK time for the first three games of the match. Couldn't make a first serve, almost static and errors strewn everywhere. Then he wakes up, realises he's in Japan and starts playing for his sake.

He has a great weapon in that forehand which is the key to his game at present and his serve can be effective too. I'd like to see other aspects brought out, better movement perhaps. At the start of the match he looked static.

I'm sorry to say that I had been up for half an hour before I thought I'd check the score and so how he did! If I'd checked sooner, I could have seen most of the 2nd set as well. Truth be told though, the 3rd set was not particularly high standard of tennis and Kyle will have to up his level to have a chance against Milkman. Go often constructed points well but missed an easy shot when the hard work had been done. There were too many errors from both players. Anyway, It is the result we wanted and a victory over a much higher ranked player.

This is all good experience for Kyle. There has been much said about Kyle's year on this board. Sometimes I think we expect results too quickly, and sometimes it is better to not have too much success too soon ( Bernard Tomic would be an example of this). Russian proverb: Go slowly in order to get further......

Ernie looks ominous, having progressed through the draw with ease. He makes few errors so it will be a good test for Kyle as it requires a step up in quality.
