One of the kindest draws I've seen for a long time from a GB point of view - only 2 Brits drawing seeds in R1 and in 25Ks, all-GB R1 matches are probably a good thing in terms of total points gained.

Generally I think a much weaker draw than the 25Ks earlier in the year, but even then, yes, worked out well for the Brits.
The qualifying draw was most certainly much weaker. I recall a load of relatively high ranked foreign qualifying seeds pitched against hugely lower ranked or unseeded Brits with some carnage following. I feel that it was largely these 25Ks that brought calls for more home 10Ks so that our girls could have a chance to be competive at home. But this time qualifying was generally much more realistic and some decent performances.
Main draw is out, not too bad, although Tara goes from one Naomi to another, and will face Cavaday in round 1. Two other all GB clashes Eden v Sarah Beth (big opportunity for Eden to score some good points there) and Jasmine vs Nastya Mikheeva, making her pro debut.
Really interested to see how Tara v Naomi pans out.
I think this is the stand out match for sure. I love both players and this should (in theory) be a jump too high for Naomi at this stage, yet I can see it being a three setter at least!
It really is...depends what sort of level Naomi was at when Tara beat her...that win alone makes Tara look like she is in reasonable form, but her loss afterwards sets that back!
I think I agree with phil, that Cav's winning streak could nudge her as favourite.
In theory, at this stage it should be Tara's match but Naomi is full of confidence and seemingly loving tennis again and Tara just seems out of sorts and lacking confidence. Mind you, the way they both crack the ball, spectators might be in danger tomorrow.
Put it this way, if the bookies make Tara the heavy favourite, it would probably be worth a punt on Cav. (this is not to be construed as betting advice LOL)

I would never risk my hard earned pennies on this unpredictable sport (or any for that matter) but if I did I would probably sway towards Cav purely out of interest.
I cant help but feel after Tara taking out Broady and falling at the next hurdle last week, it would be somewhat more interesting to unleash Cav on her quarter and see what happens... It would also be nice for her to feel the benefit of jumping up a level, winning a far greater amount of points per win than she has been so far. Who knows, but best of luck to both
I'm hoping Katy Dunne gets a nice win. It seems to me that she's just got to the end of her first full year, where it's all rosy and you accumulate points and only really go in one direction. And now she's suddenly got points to defend and the momentum shifts a bit - Katy's got 2 x 12 pointers coming off in December (and a 4 and a 6) - those are her third highest counters.
