though he's been a bit unlucky with the draw - 2nd seed qr1; tough pro qr2, underranked player qr3 and no $ or pts if he loses; and not even getting into the doubles directly (looks like he's just about to start qualifying match)!
At least Marcus has still got his sense of humour.
Cartman wins 76 67 76! What an epic! Off to eat some pies and ice cream before the dubs. #vamos
Yes, that made me smile too They beat Elliott & Ouellette 4 & 3 in doubles QR1 too

Great couple of results for Marcus. Bored out my skull on tour in Germany today so put a bunch of bets on. One of which was 20 quid on Marcus at 6/4. Therefore I actually sat through every point of that match on bet365 lol. #epic
Giron will be tough for Marcus, he's had some very good results on tour recently beating quite a few top 300 players. Fingers crossed Marcus + quick courts will be too much!
Bit of a drag Marcus + Lewis having to go through doubles qualifying but at least getting plenty of doubles matches in which will give them an opportunity to sharpen up after a significant gap playing together .
Their current ranking as we saw last week v treat Huey & F Nielsen in the final is not a full reflection of their true ability which I think currently is combined 160-300 . They had significant back during the summer so their rankin stagnated .
A combined ranking of 400 should be good enough for WC main draw Wimbledon a long way off but worth planning for !
Marcus was broken at 3-3 thanks to some excellent play from Giron...he plays a lot like Broady, not very tall but good serve placement and able to work the angles really well.
Marcus had break points in the 9th game of the 3rd set that would have left him serving for the match but he is 1/9 on bps so far (though he has also saved 6/8 bps and served 22 aces!) - after Giron held, he held again for 4-6 7-6(2) 5-5*
