Great win for Liam and a big week for Marcus.

No SE thus Tennys should get the last spot in the draw at Champaign.

Semi final will be a real test of where Liam is at.

Liam is certainly in very fine form, but Marcus was not far off him today.

Well done, both !

I thought the standard of play was very high. By my count Liam made 3 unforced errors, 4 if you include a 2nd serve return he failed to make. Marcus volleyed superbly once again. My only criticism would be that he made very little of the rare opportunities he got against Liam's 2nd serve.

Not the cakewalk I expected after the first set.  Nip & tuck throughout the MTB...

Could be a very good week for challenger doubles.
Brydan won, Skupskis in final and Ed plus Sean must fancy their chances.

PS Marcus has not signed in for qualis at Champaign.

Oh, you may be right. In which case his body will get a few days recovery anyway.

I wondered whether there might be an issue with his wrists towards the end of the Broady match - it looked as if one might be troubling him. At any rate, after all the long, three-set matches, he may need some time to recover generally and hopping straight into more qualies might not be a great idea. Doubt that he'll get a WC - there are a huge number of Illinois players (as someone here has already posted) who would have preference. But I could be wrong!
