Not bad for someone who doesn't have the physique of a professional tennis player......
Love it. Use it as motivation. Prove them wrong. Great win today.
Oh. And welcome to the board.
Apologies if my original comment caused any offence, it was not my place to comment and would clearly not have been a nice thing to read. I would hate to think that I had caused any hurt and apologise completely if I have. Congratulations on a fantastic win.
Bob, I do not to be proven wrong as I am well aware that Marcus is a quality tennis player but I shouldnt have commented on his physique.
Lokoli is an excellent player and a very exciting prospect. That's a fine fine win from Marcus......even if his returns were a shocker [his comment]!
Can Marcus back it up though? That's the real test, I guess. And it's where Liam seems to have turned a corner - to grind out decent results over a reasonable period of time even when playing so so.
Don't worry I'm not offended or hurt and I'm well aware of what I have to do to make the next level. I by all means don't think I am in good enough shape and I will work on it after these next 2 weeks. I'm naturally a bit of a tank anyway so I will never be skinny! So don't lose sleep over it boys! Cheers for the support and we (players) are all after the same thing. Positivity goes a long way. Cheers
marcus is right we need to focus on the positives . Just beaten no300 world and gave a recent wimbie champ a fright in his 1st challenger final . I would say the young man and his doubles partner Lewis burton have done very well . Let's get behind all our players and focus on the positives .
Not really a kind draw for any of the Brits. Marcus has got a good win and hopefully he can qualify having the lowest seed as his potential FQR opponent, but Lewis is out after a tough QR1 and the MD isn't much kinder. Ed has a bit of a nightmare draw and Liam has something similar, with either Duckworth again or sixth seed Russell WR 129 in a potential R2! If there was ever a week for some of the top-300 boys to pull a performance out of the bag, then this may be it! Good luck to them all.

Glad to hear it. As ever, I will be cheering on all the Brits this week. Best of luck backing up a cracking win.
Congrats to Marcus on a fine looking win, and I like how he still looks to particular aspects that could have gone better.
Was certainly in pretty reasonable condition in May when I saw him win two long matches on Edinburgh clay in a day, the second a three set semi final win against Liam Broady.
Still great to see that he knows it is a real area he can indeed mprove on, and takes comment with what seems to be his standard good humour and grace.
Welcome to the forum, Marcus. I am sure from some of your readings you will realise that some of us are a bit untrained so will never purely uncritically flagwave, but what we virtually all are are big fans of British tennis players and want them to succeed.

Check out what Mardy Fish did weight-wise and what he achieved 30lbs lighter, Roddick too. Nice to hear of your overseas success though. Keep on truckin'!
Great chance for Marcus to qualify now and hopefully pick up some singles ranking points.
Good to see Marcus and Lewis having a run at challengers, hopefully next year we will see a mix of challengers and 15K to start with and then it will depend on how successful they are.
