Naomi served 6 DFs early in the match but none in the final set and served her first ace in her final game. It was a pretty close match with Lazareva breaking 5 times in 12 attempts and Naomi 7 in 19. Total points Lazareva 90 Naomi 100. This should give Naomi plenty of confidence for next week's $25K in Bath.
Naomi is certainly heading back to that top 500 sooner rather than later. Would take two wins in Bath to maybe be enough, taking her from 47 to 56 points, which is the points level of the current WR 500.
On Monday 10/11 we will have 7 players all within 17 ranking points from GB no 8 to 14, including some injured players or in Anna's case concentrating on doubles, all just in, have been in or not far off the top 500. I could see the number of GB top 500 women challenging and possibly overtaking the number of men in 2015.
