Anyone know if Rachel Porter is the sister/relation of Daivd Porter who just lost quite a close match to Dan Cox ?

Alannah beats Dommie so that's the qualifiers known.

As steven says, very good to see some new names amongst them.

The doubles draw is up.

Pleased for Ms. Griffin, but, I too am pulling for Dommie, especially until she at least gets that precious point.

Shame Gaby drew Freya.

Potential banana skin for Harriet but can't complain really otherwise.

Interesting field, but with the top 5 seeds being non Brits, if we can get anyone into the semis this week it will be a good effort.

Pretty good day
I think, that in singles matches where a Brit loss was avoidable (ie not GB v GB), GB girls went 6-2 globally, including three wins against players with superior rankings.

I'll predict 2 GB semi finalists. Harriet and Manisha.

That's far too optimistic by your previous pessimistic forecasts ;) but I hope you're right !

 smile

The players are off  - shame that Freya is playing Gabby - but I'll be interested to see the result. (on serve at the moment although 'on break' might be more apt)

Emily A 5-1 v Megan

Laura D 2-5 down

Louise H 3-5 down

The Freya-Gabriella 1st set was very long, averaging 8.6 points per game, Freya holding serve 2 times to 1 and winning it 6-4. She is now a break up in the 2nd 6-4 *2-1

Louise lost 4 & 0 to Boeykens and Laura lost 2 & 4 to the lower-ranked Vajdová

Emily is the first GB winner (beating Megan 6-1 7-6(4)) and she will play Magali Kempen (BEL) WR 1078 (CH 1072 in Sep), who upset the 7th seed today

I hoped Laura D would continue with her recent form and put up a closer scoreline

Lucy looks like beating the out of form Charlotte Pearce

Harriet is a set and a break up

I'm hoping young miss Lazic may spring a suprise

Pearce recovers from 0-5* to *5-5 in the final set against Lucy, only to be broken to love.

Harriet cruises through 62 62, much easier than I expected.

Emma served for the first set at *5-4 and was two points away at 30-30, now in a tiebreak
