Points wise, Liam has 26 points to come off between now and the end of the year, 10 of which come off on Monday. So his 29 (and hopefully more) points here cover all of those. So a really good chance now to close in on the Top 200, depending of course on how many more tournaments Liam is planning to play this year.
Looking forward to next year, he has no points at all to come off until April, which improves his chances even more of making that Top 200 and beyond. I wonder how many of us woud have predicted that 3 months ago.
Great win for Liam. A win today will take him to GB no. 3. I reckon you could have got pretty good odds with a bet at the start of the year that both Broadys would reach GB no. 3!
To be fair, Bob, philwrig was saying pretty good things even a few months ago about Liam when I was one less tham impressed with his futures form and indeed his and Luke's schedule, missing the grass court season.
Whatever, these early summer futures weeks do seem as if they may have been some foundation for what has followed, and with the LTA getting enough rap, here is one of their players given a plan, which has worked out well.
I assume it is pure coincidence that Liam's real upturn in form has come in the wake of the NTC decisions and realising that he will have much less involvement with that place :)
Be very interesting to see how both Liam and Kyle progress next year. Be great if they can both really push on and both get good support, which is suitable for each as individuals.
If the live rankings pages are correct (they've got Liam's points correct, so that's a start!), a SF win could take him to WR 200 exactly but the following could still overtake:
- JP Smith, if he wins his Traralgon SF against 2nd seed Klahn (postponed until Sunday)
- Niels Desein, if he wins his Eckental SF against Pütz (about to start)
- Jarmere Jenkins, if he win the title in Traralgon - he plays 4th seed Moriya, with the winner to play Smith or Klahn
Winning the title would take Liam into the 180s.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
I thought Marcus froze towards the end of the match. Impressed with Lewis' return of serve. Freddie and Treat didn't do too much wrong in the second half of the match.
I was reading back on Gary's earlier thread comments that he thought Marcus's best prospects were in doubles and "it's about getting the right doubles partner that can cut the mustard in challengers".
To my mind he has that now - Lewis Burton !
If they really commit together to be all they can be to be the best support to each other it may be interesting to see just how far they can get.
