It looks a real bit of bad luck I agree, and it might prove to be but.....Dustin has not been in the best of form on hard......his better results have come on clay recently. Ed has been serving very well, Dustin can be up and down. It could be an opportunity for a top 100 scalp though I find it insane that if Ed were to achieve that, there would not be a single ranking point earnt for doing so!
Dustin lost both his singles and doubles last night, blowing hot and cold, as he does.
In fact, there are now four unseeded semi-finalists in Rennes (including the 19 year-old Frenchman, Couacaud, who is suddenly stringing together an amazing couple of months).
I think it's an unlucky draw for Ed, certainly, but agree with Shhh that it's not as dire as all that - Kyle beat Dustin back in May (although on clay).
For me, once again, it just shows the importance of getting the maximum points when you can (as Ed has done so brilliantly recently) because you're always at the mercy of the draw/conditions/the body etc.
Great win for Milts. Duckworth has just been taken out by Gawron in 2 tiebreaks, which should make things a little easier for Milts. Gawron hasn't really done anything this year to note, apart from this recent win. If he wins that, it's Copil in the FQR, which could be tricky! Saying that, his results in challengers this year haven't been incredible by any means.
