Unfortunately Joe lost in the end, 6-2 3-6 6-3, but that is a more than decent effort against a player that was Top 150 just last year.

Spoke to (Birthday boy) Beechy about Joe not so long back. His verdict was - Good Player.

Good to hear that Beechy's a fan.

meanwhile Farris just about got the first set 7-5.

Now 5*-6 in the second. (Sidorenko was top 150 in 2009)

But gets broken - 7-5 to Sidorenko.  Third set . . .

But breaks in the opening third set game.

Based on very little (a couple of matches at most), I get the impression that Farris is a good man to put your money on in a tight three setter . . . fingers crossed . . .

SF:  David O'Hare (IRL) & Joe Salisbury CR 1438 (675+763) defeated Sébastien Boltz & Antoine Hoang (FRA/FRA) CR 1931 (850+1081) by 3 & 3 smile

******

A chance for revenge of sorts:

Final:  David O'Hare (IRL) & Joe Salisbury CR 1438 (675+763) vs (4) Sander Groen & Alexandre Sidorenko CR 1505 (721+784)

Groen is 46 & has a CH of 46 dating from October 1997, while Sidorenko, 20 years his junior, has a CH of 168 dating from October 2010.

Shame.  I thought Farris was our 'three-set man' - got that wrong . . . cry

Pleased for Joe and David though . . . .

They did have a slender lead early in the CTB, but it wasn't to be. cry  Still not a bad week for them.

Good effort, but not to be. Lost 10-8 in the MTB despite being 4-1 up.

Maybe worth pointing out that the two guys who beat our best two guys, Authom (2) and Sidorenko (unseeded), have both made the final with no sweat.
