A victory against (q14) BUENO, Marcela-Guimaraes (BRA) WR 1227 (CH 1063 in Aug 2012) - that must be Savannah's best win by miles ??? Including British Tour etc., I'd have thought.
I'm not surprised her best win has come on clay. Although from North London (not famed for its clay court circuit), her stroke production, court positioning, drop shots, tactics etc make her look like a real clay-courter. I've always put it down to the fact that the coach who often took her to junior events was either Peruvian or Colombian (given the choice of tournament, probably the former). So pleased for her, she's a lovely girl.
Yes, I saw her play once - at Paddington's BT event, last year, I think . . .
I can't remember her game in any real detail (trying to watch four matches at once, as I recall, and probably ended up not watching any properly - it was a lovely sunny day though:))
But I do remember noting that she had a very nice game, with a high trajectory (as you say) and yet was more aggressive than I expected for someone quite young and slight.
Which club does she belong to and train at ? Is her, let's say Peruvian, coach the club coach ?
She initially came from the Hackney City Tennis Club - a parks initiative which also fostered young Lauryn John-Baptiste's start in tennis. I've no idea if the coach who accompanied Savannah to tournaments was the club coach although I believe she does hit on the Hackney courts with him. I think the Hackney City Club has an arrangement with Goslings for their players to access the indoor facilities during the winter, so Savannah may also do some training there.
