What a lovely venue this is, on a Californian peninsula.

Yes Liam! 1 set all; 3-6, 7-5. He's playing well from what I've seen (end of the 2nd set)

Giron breaks in the first game of the decider then saves at least one break point in the next game - 6-3 5-7 *0-2

So far, Liam has had 16 break points and taken 4, Giron has had 11 and taken 5.

Liam will the available lucky loser place even if he loses this match (thanks to @rourkeytennis on Twitter for spotting this before I checked!) but the extra 5 points might come in handy.

Liam breaks back - both players have found it hard to hold onto breaks in this match.

Only managed to see the third set. Very poor play from Liam, which is a shame, as it sounds like I missed all the good stuff earlier.

Two poor service games from Liam in the final set and he goes out 3-6, 7-5, 2-6.  Standard of hitting and tennis in general was good.  There was an interesting moment in the 2nd set at 4-3, breakpoint  to Liam.  Marcos hits a powerful groundshot that Liam was convinced went thru the net, not over it and so he stopped playing.  I shall have to look at that again. Liam didn't do a great job of putting it out of his mind....

Let us hope he does get the LL spot, I think his form is good enough to win a couple of rounds.  As somebody has already mentioned, Giron is under ranked.
