Boys: Wichita Falls ITF, USA, hard - Grade 4 (Week 40)

Ryan Storrie moves up to a G4, and if successful in round 1 is likely to come up against a strong seed, who like Ryan, has beaten Nathan Ponwith (a G1 finalist) in a G1 this year.

R1 (L64)

Ryan James Storrie (GBR) v (Q) William Howells (USA)

Ryan has climbed to 750 in the new rankings - this G4 will be more of a test. It's quite strong.

SF : Ryan James Storrie (GBR) v Jacob Hansen (USA)

Hansen beat the second seed in the quarter-finals.

Ryan and partner also won their doubles semi, and so play the final against Sheehy & Wynn

I believe that Ryan has just beaten Hansen and sails into his second final in two weeks ::))

SF : Ryan James Storrie (GBR) def. Jacob Hansen (USA) 7-6 (7-5) 6-4

I think he plays Sam Riffice in the final, which will be a good match as Riffice is a talented youngster who very nearly beat Michael Mhoh at the grade 1 in Maryland (lost 8-10 in third set tie break). That said, Ryan beat him in the quarters at Waco so fingers crossed . . .

A horribly close score but this time it's Riffice who comes through:

Final : Ryan Storrie (GBR) lost to (9) Sam Riffice (USA) 7-5 6-7(9) 6-3

However, that's two finals in two weeks, and one title. A very good couple of weeks for someone so new onto the circuit. Onwards and upwards, Ryan :)
