RE: Week 40 - ITF ($10K) - Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hard

Harriet serves out her match to 15, so an all-GB semi-final is duly set up with two very convincing 3 & 1 wins! That's one of Harriet's best ranking scalps to date too

QF: (7) Harriet Dart WR 619 beat (4) Ana Veselinovic (MNE) WR 464 (CH 329 in 2007) by 3 & 1
QF: (SE) Naomi Cavaday WR 1093 beat (2) Barbara Haas (AUT) WR 399 (= CH) by 3 & 1

SF: (7) Harriet Dart WR 619 v (SE) Naomi Cavaday WR 1093

have they played before? I am trying to remember who beat Cav in the Wimbledon playoffs and it was an easy result

Yes - Harriet won 3 & 0 - well remembered, it doesn't appear on the ITF lists, of course.

Can't help but agree, although it's 49-51

Youngsters will have their day - the 'slightly older' ones need all the help they can get.

And isn't it great that we can support them both ??

Nice tweet again from Naomi:

"Another good match under my belt today. I found a good rhythm and didn't let up"

Hearty congratulations to Eden & Ioana, who convincingly KO the #2 seeds to make back-to-back doubles finals together in Sharm.
SF: Silva/Ducu (GBR/ROU) defeated Baluu/Wang (IND/CHN) [2] 6-2 6-3

They could play Harriet in the final; her match is currently, 3-1*

A rematch, I suspect it'll be a lot tighter this time around.

The all GB showdown semi in Sharm is underway!
Naomi serving first, served her first DF of the week!, saved 2 BP and held.
Naomi, 1-0*
