Week 40 - ITF ($10K) - Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hard

No qualifying matches in Egypt this week, due to lack of entries.

Naomi would have been in qualifying, but has a SE due to her victory.

Harriet, Fran and Eden also in main draw. Mirabelle Njoze entered, but is not in the qualifying draw, so unless she has a wildcard, will not be playing.

Much stronger set of seeds this week.

I think CD said a couple of times in last weeks thread that Cav had withdrawn this week(?).

I'm interested in why Harriet would flit between Antalya one week & Sharm the next.
I'm sure there's some logic there.

Think it's the week after, ali. I get myself all confused with dates confuse sorry if I confuse everyone else . . .

i.e. I think she's withdrawn from the Sharm event starting on 6th October

No, my fault.

Second time you clearly state in 8 days time and I must have just 'blipped' past that bit.

Sorry about that. no

Mirabelle is in the main draw, via a wildcard.
On paper, they all look tough draws(excluding the all GB match)

So if Naomi can get past the Ukrainian 5th seed, then there is Haas in her quarter as the other seed who she beat last week.

No issues with Naomi going home at the end of this week. She hasn't played much, so i'm not sure if 3 weeks of tennis would be a good idea and also three consecutive weeks away given her previous problems may be difficult.

Fran was 3-6 2-5 15-30 down and the match disappeared, I assume she finally lost.

Yes, froze for me too.

In the meantime, Harriet has started, and her scoreboard is working (for now), *1-2
