Seems to be the same script, winning more points, but not winning the set. The guys would have loved to have beaten Venus as well. On the positive side, they don't look far off, and as Ken's always told me, it's always just a few points here and there, and they're getting closer and closer.

Rochus is retiring after this tournament, so guess that will be his last ever competitive match, having already lost in singles. That is unless he follows in the footsteps of his fellow countrywoman and makes a Grand Slam winning return a few years down the line.

A comeback seems to be rather unlikely in this case.

Sadly, the top seeds had just a bit too much for the scratch (???) fourth-seeded pairing:

SF:  (1) André Begemann & Julian Knowle (GER/AUT) CR 87 (47+40) defeated (4) Henri Kontinen (FIN) & Jonny Marray CR 129 (54+75) by 3 & 4

They had points in that final game to level the score in the set at *5-5... hmm  Still, at least they justified their seeding. smile
