Wow! Well done Farris. This achievement is obviously much more than beating a previously top 300 player but congrats to him on every landmark and challenge he knocked over this week.

I wonder when the press and the LTA will start to take notice?!  Is he allowed to keep his prize money?  I'm not sure what the rules are re. scholarship students.    Will Farris back up his success with more wins this week?

I hope he plays a Challenger soon so that we might be able to watch.

Congrats, mate!

The Optimist, on the challenger US thread, talking about Cam Norrie, says that he's allowed to keep prize money insofar as it offsets expenses but almost certainly wouldn't be allowed to claim a bonus top-up amount (as that would be 'professional' and invalidate hos scholarship). So, presumably, the same goes for Farris. Which isn't really a problem, I guess, because although it's a reasonable amount, he's getting free coaching/physio/use of facilities etc. etc. which must be worth a lot more over the year than one decent-ish prize cheque.

Represents his college next week in the ITA All American Championships.  Guess after that it's back to classes for while.

According to paulisi's list, he seems to have snuck in another 15K the week of 06/10

^ Gosh, he tweets enough doesn't he!!

Some amusing pics there though, interesting that one of his rituals between points is rolling up his shirt, I mean, who does that?!

Hahaha. Sorry, I meant to say its past all the stuff about the "Amazing Race Canada"

He does seem to be almost living every point with them both.

This made me laugh "Umm Gosea just barked like Petra after hitting his drop shot return into the net... #k" which was closely followed by "Gosea is just too good" and "Trouble, trouble for Phillip now"

Lol I've seen people do it wiping sweat away but not every point.

Oh the manual dexterity of youth.  Wish I was able to tweet so quickly.  If I tried tweeting a running commentary like that, I'd end up missing 90% of the action while fighting the keyboard.  All fingers and thumbs.

Some good photos though.
