Marcus has quite a few points from Kuwait to defend in the next few weeks, so these few weeks are quite crucial to protect his ranking. However he hasn't got much to defend at all from mid Oct until March, so could be a big upturn in rankings if he can knuckle down and be more consistent.
looking at Marcus' schedule - not playing next week, then in France for a 15K+H, then first preference is Houston for 15K. I assume he will stay and play Mansfield,US 15K if he does go out to the US, then a choice of staying and playing the last US 15K or coming back for the two GB 15K's.
Whatever way, if he has a few decent weeks, he should be able to cover the Kuwait points and pick up more points and attack the top 300.
I guessing the main goal of all the players hovering in the 200-350 range is to secure enough points to get to 250 ranking by end of year and make Aussie open qualifying.
Mick used to be a top 50 junior and 'young star' but then disappeared off the radar - losing practically everything under the sun (don't know if he was injured - not much, i don;t think as he was still playing) or in school (possibly, due to to dates of his tournaments, but not completely sure).
However, he's beaten the second seed and the sixth seed this week (and finally strung a few matches together this year) so at last is playing a bit better.
If Marcus doesn;t like playing Lewis, hope he can get his head round playing Mick :)
