I'm as surprised as you, steven - I've just looked him up on the FFT site, to check, which only seems to confirm that Fomba is a decent player, getting better, but not one that you'd expect to cause Dave any real problems. . . .

Dave's partner, Inzerillo, also rather inexplicably lost his first round singles yesterday to a guy ranked roughly 1000 places below him . . . perhaps it helped both of their doubles . . . #unlikely
