JoKo won the title here last year but this event has moved back a few weeks in the calendar. Katie Boulter should be seeded in the main draw this year and Izzy is in qualifying despite being listed as a withdrawal on the acceptance list on ITF, which is why she needed the QWC in order to play:
FQR: (q4/wc) Isabelle Wallace WR 1269 v Kelly McNabney (CAN) UNR or Ty Ana Williams (USA) UNR

Well done to Izzy - I just realised that's her first ITF Pro Circuit match win this year - her other 3 points since December came through R1 losses as a wild card in 25/50Ks, though she won a match (as a WC) in Loughborough last November to get the other point currently in her WTA ranking.

Qualifiers placed - both Brits draw 17-year-old unranked qualifiers who might be a little more tricky than that implies, but we can hardly complain about the draw
L32: (5) Katie Boulter WR 462 v (Q) Dasha Ivanova (USA) UNR (17yo junior WR 32)
L32: (Q) Isabelle Wallace WR 1266 v (Q) Alexandra Valenstein (USA) UNR (17yo, reached a 10K QF from qualifying in Jun)

Familiar face for Izzy in R2; she faces Amy Bowtell (550).
Even allowing for USO qualies given the change in the calendar, this seems a very under strength $25K this year. Strange, as I remember it being very well run last year.
Not sure why the 25ks are not so strong as at the start of the year. Even Barnstaple is relatively easy to get in. More events scheduled at the same time?
Interesting having a 25k the same week as GS qualifying, when you're basically guaranteed no top 250 players, resulting in a tournament field not much stronger than a 10k. Not complaining great opportunity to pick up cheap points.
