It's an odd story really. As I read it she can have the surgery under her healthcare cover but not at the facility she wants or with the surgeon she wants. It seems strange to me to turn that down and spend lots of time on court coaching and run the risk of making the problem inoperable by anyone. It's also the sort of thing you would expect a strong young hopeful to be given assistance with by the USTA or by the big name sponsors that she had. Obviously the story is a bit light on detail and has been written to help her generate some funds so hard to really grasp quite why she is in this situation. Nonetheless I hope she gets her surgery somehow and gets back on court fit and healthy.

Yes, I was certainly wondering where the USTA were in all this. While it was unclear to me as to whether Alicia could have the procedure under her existing cover, I wonder what the LTA would do if one of our very top young players could only get an injury potentially sorted privately and / or abroad and couldn't themselves get near that financially. She seems to have been left to sink or swim.

I believe that Tiff William has been injured and doing her rehab work.

She's also doing a crowdfunding page, and planning to play 20 tournaments this year - so best of luck, Tiff !

I see that Tiffany is on the list for the Italy 15K in week 8, Monday 19/02, currently 8th on the qualifying list.

Oh and 15th on the Tunisia 15K qualifying list. She has Italy as her Priority 1.
