Congrats to Harriet on winning her 3rd 10K doubles title (her 2nd this year - the other one was with Katy, the other Brit Morgina has won a double title with this year) and making her 2nd 10K singles final (Edgbaston 2012 was the other)
FINAL: Harriet Dart WR 796 lost to (5/WC) Valeriya Strakhova (UKR) WR 523 (= CH) by 3 & 3
Harriet couldn't stop Strakhova from winning her 4th title in a row here, but nevertheless a very good week and she should break into the WTA top 700 for the first time on Monday week

Pretty straightforward for the Ukrainian in the second set, sadly. Taken overall, GB Women are having a pretty dis-spiriting year all told. The top 3 mask this rather, along with Katy & Ellie to a lesser extent.
I like Harriet though, she needs more 'oomph' (technical term) in her game though.
Edit: had score, Steven was in 6 seconds before though

...hopefully though not in as good form as Strakhova, who herself will be quite a lot higher ranked once these two latest titles are added in.
Good week for Harriet.
And overall, I feel much better about the British women's year than AliBB appears to, mainly due to how the youngsters have been performing plus as said the top 3, most notably Heather.
Yes, purely on rankings quite a number of the more experienced players have not had a good year, but a lot of that is injury related, which while yes a bit dispiriting in itself makes it more understandable.
If such as Laura, Sam, Jade and Lisa return to much better fitness and form ( difficult to know what the fitness / form relationship has been for Sam and Jade ) and the younger players continue their progression I think we could be looking at a relatively pretty good few years.
In the short term, we are at risk of having only 3 or 4 players in the top 300, but such a headline figure , which on the face of it does look pretty bad, to my mind would actually hide a much more healthy position.
