Good effort from Emily - especially having had to leg it across the Atlantic - although, if anyone can high-tail half-way round the world, fall off the plane and still play decent tennis, it's got to be her.
Glad it was short-ish too as she's got her next round coming up pretty soon today.
Katie ends up racing to get ball after ball and Jegiolka ends up with an easy winner - 0-15 Much the same again - 0-30
Katie's movement is better and her shots more flowing but she seems to not put the ball deep enough to make it difficult for her opponent - which is the thing Jegiolka is good at.
Wins the next 3 points though so it's match point ... missed.
Break point
Another dodgy dropper but I think it caught the net, which made it much more effective
Tiebreak time
Edit: You're right, CD, Jegiolka doesn't deserve to win LOL

Btw, Emily is now just one win away from overhauling Katy Dunne's 2014 ytd points total (Katy is currently 5th ytd), which is odd, given that Katy seems to have had a very good year and Emily a rather patchy one (though the Wimbledon QR1 win helped, obviously!)
YTD GB top 10:
1095 Heather
306 JoKo
299 Naomi
100 Tara
81 Katy
79 Emily
63 Samantha
59 Katie (level with Sam on 63 if she wins this 3rd set)
48 Eleanor
45 Amanda
