Phew, I watch from 3-0 in the final set and I must say it was totally uninspiring with the amount of UEs. So glad James got the W though.

My "source" told me that his knee was still an issue.

If so, that can be an absolute bummer. Let's hope he moves to get it sorted definitively rather than let it linger as a continuing excuse of sorts.

I always wonder why tennis players so often do this. Its seems to have been clear that his knee is causing such a problem that just waiting and hoping (while still playing matches which the issue was always going to make it hard to win them) just seems crazy. Obviously some of the treatments for some of the injuries such as surgery can't be taken too lightly but if Evans had taken action sooner you would think his ranking drop wouldn't end up being as far as it will be now.

Same with Laura

I make that 70 points (so far) and up to about 130 in the rankings, which would be  new CH of course.

70 - 25 for the Q, 45 for the R1 win.

Another 45 on offer if he can make R3.

Up to provisional #130.

Blaz Rola or Julien Bennetaeu in round 2, winnable!

My web browser has been playing up something chronic these past days so the live stream was unwatchable, so i flounced off in a huff and left James to his own devices - which obviously worked very well :)

However, great win, yet another. . . And, yep, a decent next match.

Am I right in remembering that Wardy has beaten Blaz Rola a couple of times already this year ?

Edit

OK, I'll try not to be so lazy.  Wardy beat Rola in the Qualies at RG and then again on the grass at Queens.
