Great win. Two straight Premier event qualifications is great to see; hopefully she won't have to qualify for as many in the future!:) Hoping the draw goes well but all signs are looking good for the USO.
Heather now has effectively nothing to defend until the end of October, a 70 pointer.
She has now replaced her 16th best, a 20 pointer, and if healthy will have the two mandatory 5 pointers from last year covered ( they're pretty insignificant anyway ). So, onwards and upwards !
Just the 11 games in a row from *1-3 first set. Very fine performance if the stats tell the truth. There's a touch of the Halep story about Heather's situation......outstanding athlete with great movement but a defensive counter-attacking approach commits to remodelling her game with a bigger serve, more power on her groundstrokes, and a far more attacking balance of play. All of this takes time, and it certainly took Halep 18 months for all the hard work to pay off. I'm not saying Heather has the same potential, but there's certainly more to come than I perhaps had thought.
