Maybe not the draw we would want. But both pairs could do with getting some really good points, so hope the winners can gain confidence and advance further.
While sorry for Messrs Huey and Inglot, looking at the draw as a whole, it's pretty beastly (as Masters series doubles draws always are). At least this way, GB was guaranteed one pair through! All the best for Mr Murray and Mr Peers in the next round.
The top half of the doubles draw has opened up a bit this evening - sort of - with the defeat of the Bryans (1) by Marin Cilic & Santiago Giraldo in two (2 & 4!) & Paes & Stepanek (6) by Gasquet & JWT, also in two (7-6(1) 6-4)...
At least they gave it a go! They were teetering on the brink of going out by 4 & 4 when I left work. Bit disappointing that they couldn't make more of the MTB.
