QF: Eden Silva WR 876 lost to (1) Mari Tanaka (JPN) WR 335 (CH 287 in 2013) 6-0 6-4

well, on paper, that was always going to be the hardest so no real surprise and glad she salvaged some honour in the second set . . .

And Emily wins - which will give her 9 points, I think, from two tournaments - not enough for a ranking which seems a shame but hardly a long-term problem !

She'll play the winner of Katie today.

Back to reality methinks after a stellar week, I wonder if Katie underestimated her opponent today, certainly a slow start.

Yes, it was fun while it lasted smile

As you say, Katie was the only loss that was a bit of a surprise but, at her age and senior experience (either not a lot of either), there will usually be more ups and downs than normal. Still a good week for her, and a great week for the GB players, and good luck to Emily tomorrow ! (Not to mention the doubles).

NB good chance of Emily getting a MD wildcard ?

She has a wildcard for MD for Woking, so she is guaranteed a ranking and a place in the top 25(probably)

Eden and Izzy got the other two wildcards.

Katie B didn't.

There is 1 wildcard to be allocated that is not on the entry list - Naomi Cavaday?

I think Jade is still injured.

Naomi Cav has entered multiple events for 25th Aug week including 25k in Japan - so my money would be on her to get her third scorer as well so she can push on with resurrecting her career.

Yes, but strange she pulled out of that second Egypt tournament and then didn't play Nottingham.

Not really talking wildcard, but what about Sabrina Bamburac ? She had a 'little fling' in April. Is she going to play again ?
