And finally she gets it !!!! 6-2 7-5 to freya, who now plays katie

Unfortunately, though it was no third set this time for Fran who lost, I think, four games on the trot to lose 6-3 7-5

Excellent win for Freya.

Fran lost in straight sets despite that break when they went indoors.

No other games being played yet. Waiting for outside courts to dry?

Second scoring point for Emily towards ranking - unless of course she goes on to pick up 5pts this week.

A wildcard next week would confirm it.

Good chance to progress further with Nicola George or the Spanish qualifier awaiting

yes, and you've got to think that Nicola has a reasonable shot.

 

Charlotte Pearce (Melanie South's cousin) has also won her match easily, against Sophie Watts.

I suspect these results will justify putting on more 10K and 15k's for the girls in the UK rather than the 25K where we have just 1/2 direct entries.

Do hope so - it's what a lot of us have been saying for a while - 'bout time the LTA paid attention to us !

 

Alicia Barnett has got the first set against Yuriko Lily, 6-4.

Lucy took the first against Manisha but, in Manisha style, there may well be a third set.

Jazzamay lost the first 4-6 (which is closer than I'd have thought).

Brits causing upsets all over the place. 8 GB players through and Nicola George into a third set. Three guaranteed QF's so far.

A bit more expected, but great result from Alicia Barnett too

And Manisha beat Lucy

Nicola george won the first set easily 6-2. But then lost a tight second 7-5. Now a break down in the third. Come on, Nicola !
