Dan gets broken, Dan breaks back . . . all pretty tight . . .

Mr. Daniel gets slightly lucky (and Mr. Evans insisting a little too much on the inside-out forehand) - 5*-4 to taro

Drat, broken first game. Sometimes I wish Dan would slow down just a little, I don't like timewasters but there is moderation in all things. By the way, thanks Beefy. I was on the Challenger Spotlight page and for some reason it was showing links to the other Challengers but not Vancouver. I did "post" this earlier, but I seem to have forgotten to press the "post" button!

Has Dan given any info about why he didnt play between Lexington and Wimb? Has he been injured?

Dan struggling to hold serve.

Very few big first serves going in and getting passed at the net.

Looks capable of breaking at anytime.

No strapping on knee.

I disagree, I think Dan will likely be broken before he breaks.

Dan has a knee problem that he is managing, but Dan does what wants, when he wants. Hence why his Belgian coach has left him.

Very true, if he is as thankless to coach as he is to support I cant imagine many wanting to hang around. cry

I hate to be a pessimist, but by failing to capitalize on his lack of a points defense at Lexington, I could quite easily see Dan dropping c.200 points from Vancouver to post-USO, and 100 or so places in the rankings. And with Zagreb due to come off in February, he mightn't have much time to prevent himself starting 2015 with a bump. Or am I missing something?

No - you are correct. If he doesn' t pull his socks up he will be back around 300 and playing futures/small challengers.

It's in his hands, but he has a nice sponsorship deal, LTA funding and wildcards at Wimbledon, so he is living comfortably doing just enough.
