RE: Week 31 - Challenger (€42,500) - Segovia, Spain (Hard)

I would also hope that Brydan is aiming for top 100. Not that he is likely, or unlikely for that matter, to achieve it, but for a 24 year old with a CH of 174 at 19 to aim for less than that in the long run would be disappointing. But then that's just me.

If you're questioning my use of the disbelief, Beefy, I suggest you check:  it's meant to represent "disbelief"! wink

... but negative disbelief, not positive disbelief, surely?

Possibly, but it's the only one I know!  This one  aghast.gif any better?

Much better! The other one looks as though it is about to cry.

Strong start and Kyle is 3-0* up already.

Loved the backhand down the line to bring up BP in game 2.

Good businesslike start from Kyle - 3-0*

Live stream at new.livestream.com/ATP/Segovia2014centecourt

Picture of Kyle hitting with Greg from earlier, from Nick Edwards on Twitter, who is in Spain and has made it to the "arse end of nowhere" to watch!

Brydan's doubles is 2-6 4-4* - Nick says "Loads of footfault dramas. Both bozaljac & Klein have had words with umpire! Bozaljac came out for revenge after earlier loss!!"

The 2nd set followed the pattern of the 1st set exactly and Kyle broke again at 5-2 to seal the win, 6-2 6-2

Three impressive wins and a good day overall. Klein has made a dubs F and a singles QF beating the 7th seed, which seems pretty good to me!

As 2nd round Challenger matches go, Kyle made that look very easy. To be fair to Ortega, I am sure that he had "left it all out on the court" both physically and emotionally yesterday beating Ilhan 7-6 in the third. He put up very little resistance today.

But take nothing away from Kyle. You can only play what is on the other side of the net and he did that with aplomb today. The bonus being, that the match was over in less than an hour, and Kyle barely had to break sweat so should have plenty left in the tank for tougher challenges ahead.

Almost disappointed with Kyle - he finished so quickly I've missed the match!

Seriously - well done to Kyle and also to Brydan

This is especially true compared to Menendez's 2 hour battle today. Might not mean too much but tennis is a game of inches. smile

A win in the QF could put Kyle into the Top 200 and will likely cost me a tank of petrol. Working again tomorrow so will miss the match, but if he makes the semi, I will have to make the trip on Saturday. Perhaps I should add that it is a sacrifice I will be happy to make  smile

For those that didn't see the match, the stats will show Kyle's dominance as he lost on 5 points in serve in the entire match winning 32/37
