Berankis has another break point 30-40 ... come on Kyle!

Kyle's 1st serve has gone missing a bit in the last couple of service games and he gets broken again.

4-5*

Dammit, that was my fault, I just started watching. Maybe I had better go away again.

Maybe not the best result on the face of it, but developmentally this is a positive thing for Kyle. Times like these, especially if it goes into a third, make great experiences.

Being broken first game, with a disputed line call, is not a great experience.

Berankis looking too strong for Kyle now in every department, mixed with UE's.

The stream crashed on me a few games ago so I can't see exactly what is going wrong but it looks like Kyle has won just 7 points in the last 8 games

For the record (Berankis won the last 11 games in the end):

SF: Kyle Edmund WR 267 lost to (3) Ricardas Berankis (LTU) WR 141 (CH 67 in 2013) by 5-7 6-4 6-0

Hopefully it won't take too much away from what has been an excellent week for Kyle.

If you want to duel for blame, Madeline, I watched the two games in the second set when Mr Edmund broke and then held ... and left at 4-1. So maybe it's my sins of omission rather than yours of commission.

Whatever has happened since, those were two very impressive games. Lots of positives for the future.

Couldn't watch the 3rd set. Feared the worst. I think Kyle definitely ran out of steam on the middle of the 2nd set. But as has been said by others, this is still another very good week for Kyle. That's 2 challenger semis in 3 weeks. We would have taken that a month ago.

Fairly sure he will now withdraw from Segovia. Rest will be the order of the day.

It was close for two sets and Kyle had chances to close them out in both. Unfortunately ran out of gas at the end.

Excellent week, big rise in the rankings and hopefully the start of more challenger SF's.
