That was disappointing - totally outplayed.

How many times did Anna get lobbed???

Still a good week 3k each and a load of ranking points.

Baku next?

Their not in the draw for Baku so either a week off or maybe the 50K in Poland?

Outclassed but this is their first foray into finals at this standard. The first of many...?

For the record:

Final:  Andreja Klepac & María Teresa Torró Flor (SLO/ESP) CR 180 (59+121) defeated Jos Rae & Anna Smith CR 265 (130+135) by 1 & 1 hmm

That looks disappointingly one-sided, but with any luck they'll both learn a lot from the experience.

Shame that nerves completely overtook both of them. They were up against strong opponents, but still very disappointing. Still though its been a great week, and next time they make finals of a big event I'm sure they'll have learned from this experience, and play up to level they are capable of.

In the newly updated doubles rankings, Anna is up 16 to WR 114 and Joss up 19 to WR 116.

Anna is due to drop back to Joss's points score next week when she loses the extra 5 points that she doesn't share with Joss, so they will then be on the same points score moving forward if they continue to only play doubles with each other.

Thereafter, their only points due to come off before December are a net 12 points ( 30 - 18 ) at the end of October, and that might not be a counter by then.

That's very exciting - huge potential for this partnership! Well done to them both.

They are off to the States. Not sure if they will pop up in Lexington when the draw is done, or if they are coming out later in the week for DC/Stanford.

Interesting times, and good to see them making the trip across the pond, even if they end up playing the 50k this week and the 100k in Vancouver next.
