Great win, was nowhere near his best in the first set and his opponent was playing well but toughed it out of and played very well whenever he was under pressure. Looks like a great chance of a SF now.
That was a very good win.
Donaldson played some fantastic tennis for the first set and a half. Big serves, winners from everywhere. I don't think anyone outside the top 50 would have got anywhere close during that spell.
There was no way he could keep up the levels, lots of errors crept in and he couldn't return. To be fair Dan cranked up his serve and got more first serves in.
Donaldson reminded me of Oli in struggling to control emotions and frustrations. The kid is talented and will go a long way if he get his head sorted.
Dan marches on, but I don't see too many weapons to see him climb much more than 200. He can serve big at times, but is reliant on his opponent making more errors than him.
Very perceptive comment from a poster before the start that it could be a close match and would be a good one for Dan to come through :)
Wonder who that could be ?
And what about the other 'unknown' poster who said my money's on Dan ? That's ker-ching for someone . . .
Brilliant run, Dan. It's hard to put the matches back to back but that's what you need to do to get the points and the cash. And Dan's done it. Super.
NB People always said that David Ferrer never had any real weapons and just relied on his opponents making more mistakes than him. Never did him much harm . .

Great news. I have to admit I thought a win was unlikely when I went to bed, but strangely I dreamed that he won! I have never dreamed about a tennis result before, either. Odd.
