Stephanie Foretz has just won the 25k at Gatineau, so is obviously on form. Although with lots of three setters - so maybe she's a bit tired ?

And is a best friend of Em's, which isn't easy.

Could have been a kinder draw for Emily.

But then, she had an excellent first round draw last week and couldn't close it out when she needed to and lost . . . swings and roundabouts . . .

Maybe her best pal could give Em a nice birthday present, not just a piece of Foretz Gatineau, if you know what I mean.

Very poor 36 64 64 loss for Sam. One which highlights how far from her fantastic form of this time last year she is.

2014 really has been a sad case of losing from strong winning positions. Hard to see where the turnaround comes from, will be out the top 300 soon which really is a crime considering the tennis she can produce.

Real pity. Must be so very frustrating for Sam.

I hope she can find ways to turn her form round, and get back much closer to what she has shown herself capable of.

Looking at the ranking points in general, I could see GB just having 3 women in the top 300 before the year end !

Tara is certainly in a bit better shape than Sam, if she can find a bit of form, and clearly Laura's fall is due to exceptional circumstances, but it would certainly look bad if that came to pass.

Clearly some very good younger prospects on the rise, hopefully a fairly rapid rise.

Looks like short term pain, but in 5 years time lots to look forward to.
