Heathrow to Bogota will have been a horribly long journey and I get the impression this was a last minute decision. Still, he got the win!
Re all the points being defended in the couple of months, I have to say I'm quite worried about Dan E. If he can't reproduce the heroics of last year or gets injured, his points total could more than halve and he'd find himself ranked in low 200's.
Anyway, it's nice to see a Brit travelling to S. America to play on the dirt, it doesn't happen often! Good luck today!
Gonzalez was playing decent singles 3-4 years ago. He got inside top 200 I think and then got injured and decided to become a doubles specialist after that. So not that surprised that he gave Ward a run for his money!

He also won his QR1 only losing 3 games against someone ranked in the 400's so I agree no surprise.
