Match was played indoors as the grass courts were very saturated, from 12 hours of constant rain.
Very close game and very little to choose between them.
Milts started slowly, but was very aggressive towards the end of the first set and started to get on top. Second set George was very steady, but Milts made lots of unforced errors.
Third set was very tight, but Milts held on to a very long service game at 4-5 and then George got a bit tight, but somehow held onto serve.
Tie break was quite one sided. Milts hit a great winner down the line early on and the George threw in a few unforced errors and it was all over.
As for the two players.
Josh Milton - serve has improved immensely, such that the first serve is now a weapon. Very much a baseline, when he is good, he is very good, but plays in patches and needs to be more consistent. Net work needs a bit of focus.
George C - every time I see him, I cannot understand why he is not ranked higher. He has a good serve/volley game, excellent drop shot and his ground shots are very solid.
Nice to see Josh get his first futures title in nearly 4 years. He has a miserable time over the last couple of years and from what a couple of people have said he has considered jacking it in.
