I think keeping her out of the spotlight wasn't a bad idea. Playing on the clay has been positive for her, so changing surfaces I'm not sure would have been ideal.

I am also surprised that Toby isn't down to play in the USA. He is clearly still over there with Liam and Luke (see twitter photos) and he is down to play USA the following week.

I'm sure i saw a tweet from Toby saying he was going out for 5 weeks and couldn't wait to get back home.

Anyone know what is going on with Tom F. He has hardly played since winning Wirral...

I think he's had some more injury problems. Not sure if it's the old one come back or new ones.

 

He retired from the match in the Netherlands (? I think it was?) and then has withdrawn from all tournaments since then (must have been about 6-8 weeks ago now).

 

That man seems plagued with injury problems . .. crycrycry

Didn't see that one. But it still doesn't explain why he is there next week but not playing, and then going to play the following week in Godrey USA.  After his exploits last week, I would have thought he would want to play as much as poss. Don't think it can be injury as the entries were in a while ago and he would have withdrawn from the next one as well.

Surely he wouldn't have just forgotten to send his entry form in (it's been done before). I get the feeling Toby is far too organised for that to happen.

He said something about a bad neck spasm making him think of withdrawing last week. Just possible that he wants to rest it, after the heavy week making the final ?

From the ITF site, Toby appears to have never been on the entry list ( he isn't in the list of withdrawals ), which ties in with him not being mentioned in the opening post.

Strange one, especially with the week's break anyway the week before.

That thought did occur to me, but as Indi says, he was never on the list anyway.

Actually, are we sure Toby is still out there ?

Maybe he wanted to break up his USA schedule with a 2 week break back home, and that was what he was referring to with that tweet ( which I didn't see ) about he couldn't wait to get back home ?

I looked at his twitter account and couldn't find that tweet, but maybe I missed something. What I do know is that he was tweeting pictures of himself and Liam yesterday, so he is clearly still on the other side of the pond.
