Jo Konta was originally down to play in the 50K, but withdrew on Monday.
Good tournament selection from Alex Ward to find a 15K+H where he is likely to be seeded in the top four and would probably pick up more points than via a challenger.
Ilkley is much weaker than Manchester with Oli, Dan S and a few other not on the list, but again only 2 foreigners in the main draw with another in the French/Scotsman likely to make the draw.
Nice to see Tiffany William playing, i thought she was one of the more promising Uni players, when i saw her play. Looks like Naomi Cavaday's comeback is on hold(withdrawn from Egypt) and Lisa Whybourn's shoulder may still be an issue as she has also withdrawn.(problem at Wimbledon qualis??)
Shame more of the brits aren't competing in the 25K in Gatineau (Canada). Katy and Katie were both on the original list but withdrew. They would have made the main draw. Eleanor, who was on the original list for the Romanian 10K on clay but withdrew, would have been close to the main draw in Canada too, had she entered.
Katy needs some time off to get that hip injury right
Katie is playing junior wimbledon and will need a break as she has played a lot
Eleanor picked up an injury(retired) in her last tournament and is probably recovering
And Naomi has also withdrawn from the weak 50k in the US which like the 25k in Canada would have yielded decent pouts surely. Wonder what the schedules of the mid range women for July are particularly Naomi Tara Sam and Katy.
