I can actually see the LTA's viewpoint on this, weirdly. A lot of our young boys got stuffed in qualifiers/challengers over here because the fields are so competitive.

Does Oli's 8 points over three tournaments really constitute a good haul?

Well, Oli's 8 points cost the LTA (and us) precisely nothing as there was no coach attending and he lives right next door.

 

Whereas they are paying for four men (three/two men ??? Not sure) plus Mark Hilton to go the States, put them up for three weeks, travel around, pay Mark full-time etc. etc. and so far the points haul is, after two weeks:

Ash: 20

Toby: 3

Liam: 2

Luke: 1

I never looked at it that way, I must admit. They need a good few weeks to finish the trip then!
